We named the house Robber's Roost. This is the name of the hill on which it is built. The hill got its name from the Comstock days when highwaymen would sit and select their victims as they traveled on the toll road that connected Virginia City with Reno

As an architect and owner/builder of my own house, I have embraced the 3-d panel system every step of the way. I describe our house as one of contemporary shapes with primitive finishes. The structural capabilities of the panel system allowed me to design more windows into the exterior of the house and more openness in the interior. During the course of construction I had the flexibility to cut window openings where the view demanded and fill in those openings that deemed unnecessary. I felt like I was creating "real time" architecture on the site. It was extremely rewarding. - Jim Bolton
